Not the best of weeks for the Northwest on TOUR. With only one event and one of the strongest fields of the year, only 3 golfers managed to make the cut. Ryan Moore found himself tied for 14th heading into the final round, but +1 73 on Sunday dropped him to T26. Bellevue’s Richard H. Lee finished T65 at +3 for the week and Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley posted a 76, 77 over the weekend to finish 71st.
Tacoma’s Michael Putnam missed the cut along with Robert Garrigus and Ben Crane, both from Portland.
Nothing to report, last week was an off week for the Web.com Tour.
What’s on Tap
The PGA TOUR heads to Dallas for the HP Byron Nelson Championship. As I write this, 6 Northwest players are in position to make the cut. Alongside last weeks entrants, Alex Prugh returns to the big show this week looking to improve on his 207th place standing on the FedEx Cup points list.
The Web.com Tour is in South Carolina for the BMW Charity Pro-Am. Tacoma native Andrew Putnam is once again in the mix, alongside Seattle’s Jeff Gove, Olympia’s Andres Gonzalez and Abbotsford BC’s Nick Taylor.
